Account & Data Deletion

How account deletion, data retention, and deleted posts are handled.

Effective 28 August 2026 · Last updated 28 August 2026

Account Deletion

Users may request deletion of their CQ Gram account through available account controls or Contact Us. Deletion may result in deletion or anonymization of associated personal information, subject to reasonable legal, security, anti-fraud, dispute, moderation, and backup requirements. Certain content may remain where another user has an independent legal right to retain it or where law requires continued retention.

Data Retention

Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. Retention periods may depend upon:

  • account status;
  • type of information;
  • security requirements;
  • legal obligations;
  • fraud prevention and disputes;
  • moderation history; and
  • backup procedures.

Deleted information may remain temporarily within backups, caches, or security records before being permanently removed.

Deleted Posts

When users delete posts, CQ Gram removes them from ordinary active display within a reasonable technical period. Copies may temporarily remain in backups, caches, security systems, moderation records, legal records, or systems awaiting scheduled deletion. Deletion does not remove copies that other users lawfully created outside CQ Gram before deletion.

User Backups

Users should maintain independent copies of important photographs, videos, documents, and QSL cards. CQ Gram should not be treated as your sole permanent archive.
